Bio-Puncture Treatment
Bio-Puncture /Mesotherapy (from the Greek mesos, meaning “middle,” and therapeia, meaning “to treat medically) is a treatment that introduces microscopic quantities of homeopathic medications, vitamins, and minerals by injection through the skin, into the mesoderm. The procedure was developed in France by Dr. Michel Pistor and has been in practice since the 1950’s.
Mesotherapy treatment has been widely used across Europe since, and is recently gaining recognition in the United States.
How Does it Work?
Once the subcutaneous tissue area, or mesoderm, is reached, a variety of nutritional solutions can be injected in small amounts. This is thought to help promote an immune response which begins the body’s natural healing process.
What Conditions Does Bio-Puncture Treat?
Most musculoskeletal painful conditions can be treated using Bio-Puncture including neck, back, shoulder, knee, elbow and osteoarthritic joint pain. Cosmetic treatments can also be done.
Are the treatments painful?
Small needles are used for the treatment to help minimize pain and discomfort. Some patients may experience minor pain after a mesotherapy treatment is given and may be sore for a day or more. You can return to normal activity the same or next day.
